McCormick Charity Classic 2024 Recap

McCormick is thrilled to share the success of the second Charity Classic held at McCormick Woods Golf Club. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of our scenic 18-hole course surrounded by stunning natural trees, the event was host 144 golfers on August 14th. This year, McCormick proudly partnered with the South Kitsap Rotary Club, South Kitsap Helpline, and HomeAid Puget Sound. Together, we raised an impressive $42,600, which will be evenly distributed among these organizations to support the Port Orchard community.

Participants had a fantastic day on the course, with perfect weather providing the ideal backdrop for both golfing and giving back. However, the true highlight of the tournament was the community’s shared passion for golf and their unwavering commitment to supporting those in need within our local area. Each organization does fantastic work to give back to the community.

South Kitsap Rotary is comprised of dedicated community members who are driven to create a profound and enduring influence on their local community and abroad. Their mission encompasses a range of objectives, from assisting families in need to donating to Backpacks for Kids, the local Boys & Girls Club, Sibling Strong, and Coffee Oasis.

HomeAid Puget Sound – A non-profit organization that addresses homelessness with unique strategies and community collaboration. Their primary mission is to assist individuals experiencing homelessness in rebuilding their lives through new housing developments, community engagement, and education. Their core values of Inclusiveness, Collaboration, and Integrity are seen within each project they tackle.

Helpline Food Bank – A non-profit organization with a mission to assist individuals of all ages within the South Kitsap region. Their primary objective is to ensure that community members facing difficulties have access to food for themselves and their families. Last year, South Kitsap Helpline distributed 1,044,052 pounds of food to the local community and has built a new foodbank, allowing them to serve even more families in need in the Port Orchard area!

One of the most heartwarming aspects of the Charity Classic Golf Tournament was the sense of community that extended throughout the event. Sponsors, volunteers, and spectators all created a supportive and uplifting atmosphere.

The $42,600 raised and the 144 golfers who participated reflect the McCormick community’s commitment to supporting those in need. Helpline Foodbank, South Kitsap Rotary Club, and HomeAid Puget Sound will undoubtedly use these funds to profoundly impact the lives of many, leaving a legacy of giving that will endure for years to come. This event is a shining example of the positive change that can happen when residents around McCormick and organizations unite for a greater purpose. The masterplanned community is excited to continue to host a fantastic event.
