With Love Day just right around the corner, it’s time to treat your sweetheart to a romantic dinner. We have got you covered with eight of our favorite nearby restaurants that are perfect for a date night, one being pretty much in your backyard. Plus, a wonderful dinner out gives us an excuse to not cook or clean! If you haven’t made any plans yet, here are some ideas to celebrate in and around McCormick.
For a touch of Italy, Il Lucano Ristorante mixes a warm atmosphere with authentic Italian food. Dimmed lights add a touch of romance, while personable staff make you feel welcome. Add to that truly delicious food and generous portions, and you’re guaranteed an enjoyable evening.
Since Il Lucano has arguably the best Italian food in Gig Harbor, you’ll want to make reservations for busy times. But even if you don’t, the wait is worth it. Kick-start the mood by stopping by Gig Harbor’s waterfront before your dinner to watch the sunset. On a clear day, Mount Rainier and the sailboats create a picture-perfect backdrop.
If you’re in the mood for something different and unique, impress your sweetheart with a high tea at The Grey House Café. You’ll feel like you’ve traveled back to Victorian times — how romantic!
Inside the Victorian café building, you’ll find a beautiful, contemporary atmosphere and friendly staff. Sunday brunch is always popular, and both breakfast and lunch menus have great choices. But we recommend the high tea — it’s called Royal High Tea on the menu. Need we say more? Make sure to add a glass of bubbly, and you’re all set.
If you want to be in a cheery mood and love Mexican, El Pueblito is a fun date night. The bright décor, friendly service and authentic food make this many locals’ favorite Mexican hangout. Don’t let the unassuming exterior fool you — you’ll be pleasantly surprised once you get inside. Be warned: Dipping chips in the crazy-good salsa and the generous portions will leave you full, but leave some room for fried ice cream or churros. You’re celebrating, after all.
Aladdin’s Palace, Silverdale Speaking of traveling, Aladdin’s Palace will remind you of an exotic place, or at least make you wish you could travel to the Mediterranean. You’ll find a comfortable, relaxing ambiance and exquisite culinary delights, along with unique wine and beer from places like Greece and Morocco.
Gracious staff, made-from-scratch food and phenomenal service make Aladdin’s a place you’ll want to revisit for special occasions. Make sure you save room for baklava — and we dare you to pair it with coffee (brace yourself, it’s likely the strongest coffee you’ll ever taste).
Seafood lovers can never go wrong with Anthony’s, but if you prefer steak or chicken, worry not. Anthony’s menu comes with variety that has something for everyone, and the atmosphere is perfect for date night.
Ask for a window table and get there at the right time, and you can watch the gorgeous sunset over Sinclair Inlet. And if you make your date during the week and arrive before 6 p.m., try the Sunset Dinner, a very reasonably priced four-course experience that starts with an appetizer and works up to dessert. For a bonus, take a very short walk after dinner to the mesmerizing Harborside Fountain Park — truly one one-of-a-kind and very romantic at night.
A popular destination for locals, the Boat Shed in Bremerton’s Manette neighborhood is another fun waterfront experience. The huge deck is the place to be in summer, but the cozy inside atmosphere during winter is just as enjoyable. If you’ve never dined at the Boat Shed, the place can be a little tricky to find, but your patience will pay off. The food is delicious, staff is friendly and the view, if you get the right seat, will boost your mood for romance.
A special occasion requires a special treat. Seattle, as we like to say on this side of the water, is only a ferry ride away. And the ride itself can be romantic as you relax and enjoy the water views and maybe even an orca sighting. Take the Bremerton ferry to Seattle for one of Seattle’s best places for fine dining, Capitol Hill’s Altura Italian restaurant. Described by some patrons as “the” best high-end dining place in the Northwest, Altura turns dining into an art form.
Friendly staff, a cozy atmosphere and ever-changing menu flavors create a perfect blend for a night out on the town. All you need to top that off is a live concert or theater performance — and lucky for you, you’ll find lots of options in Seattle.
Living at McCormick, we have the privilege of a fantastic restaurant and bar in our neighborhood. It’s within walking or golf cart driving distance of our beautiful homes! This year they are hosting Valentine’s Day Dinner! Reserve your table here. The McCormick Woods Clubhouse restaurant and bar is open to the public, too. If you are in the area – perhaps searching for your new home – and want a relaxing spot to dine complete with friendly staff, quintessential northwest decor, a warm fireplace, savory dining and a classy bar, stop by the McCormick Woods Clubhouse.
We hope this gives you some inspiration for your Valentine’s Day celebration. If it doesn’t, maybe the below picture just might. We’re sure hungry! Have a fabulous time with your other half, wherever your special day takes you.
