Posted September 5, 2023

McCormick is proud to have partnered with South Kitsap Rotary to host its first ever Charity Classic Golf Tournament, raising an impressive total of $37,000. This generous contribution will be split equally between two vital nonprofit organizations in the local community, Helpline Foodbank and South Kitsap Rotary Club. The Olympic College Golf Team also joined the event as an additional beneficiary to raise money for their local team. They were stationed at hole 7 to provide pro shots to the players and raised an additional $1,000 from the event. With 138 enthusiastic golf players showing up to tee off for a good cause, this event was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on the community.

The picturesque McCormick Woods Golf Club played host to this memorable event. The tournament showcased not only the community’s passion for golf but also its dedication to supporting those in need.

The Charitable Beneficiaries:

South Kitsap Rotary Club: The South Kitsap Rotary Club has a long-standing history of serving the community through various initiatives, including education, health, and humanitarian projects. Their share of the proceeds will enable them to continue their mission and make a positive impact in South Kitsap.

Helpline Foodbank: Helpline Foodbank has been a lifeline for many families in our community, providing essential food assistance to those facing hunger. Their commitment to ensuring that no one goes to bed hungry is truly commendable, and the funds raised will significantly bolster their efforts. Money raised from this event went towards building a new space for supporting the community. Construction will start in 2024.

The heart of any charity event lies in the people who come together to support a common cause. With 138 golf players taking part, the tournament brought together individuals from all walks of life, united by their shared desire to make a difference. Their participation not only added to the excitement of the event but also contributed to its success.

One of the most heartwarming aspects of the Charity Classic Golf Tournament was the sense of community that permeated the event.
