One of our favorite parts about McCormick is having access to a great golf course right in your back yard! This summer has presented us with loads of great golf weather and to give us a better idea, we interviewed the General Manager of McCormick Woods Golf Course about how the summer has gone for them. Here is what Bjorn Bjorke had to say:
General summary of how the summer season has been going out at McCormick Woods GC
Our season has been going well. We started off the year with strange weather. We were shut down for snow for 35 days in February into March while January and most of March were great. The golf course came out strong and is in wonderful shape. We have plans this fall to add markers and yardages to every tee box along with some other exciting projects too!
How has junior golf been going out there?
Our Junior golf program is unique for the area and is really cool. We go from April-Sept culminating in the Junior Club Championship. We have 50 kids involved that practice and play twice week and the last week of every month we do a week-long junior camp. Our PGA junior league team made the post-season this year for the first time, which was a great experience!
How many hole-in-ones this summer?
5 that we know of.

Your favorite part about the golf course?
The People. I love that we are a top course in the state that a community is built around. We get people from out of country, state, town, and ones that live on the course! Most of the top ranked courses built recently are in remote areas but we were built with a community in mind like the old courses of Scotland.
With the remainder of the summer days, make sure to get out there and play a round at one of the best courses on the Peninsula! And if you see Bjorn around, tell him hello!
