There are many different types of hikes around McCormick so there is something for everyone. Gold Creek Trail at Green Mountain
Bremerton, Washington
This hike in the Green Mountains is great for beginners and experts. The Gold Creek Trail is a moderate hike with stunning views of Puget Sound, Seattle neighborhoods like Mt Baker Olympic mountains. While the trail is intertwined with others, it’s almost impossible to start down a wrong path. Well-marked and well maintained by this organization makes for an excellent family outing!
Sehmel Homestead Park
Gig Harbor, Washington
This 1.6 mile trail loop near Gig Harbor is a great place to take your furry friend or family on an easy hike and takes only 35 minutes of hiking time! There’s not too much elevation change, so even beginners can enjoy this relaxing walk through nature with little ups-and downs along the way

Mismash Loop
Port Orchard, Washington
The abundance of green space and wildlife makes this 5-mile loop trail a great place to explore. You’ll have plenty time for hiking or mountain biking as it only takes an average 1 h 42 min for the trip! The dogs are welcome, but they must be on leash in order not impact any other creature that may live there.
Illahee Preserve Loop
Bremerton, Washington
This 1.5-mile loop trail in Heritage Park is considered a moderate outing for those looking to get their sweat on and enjoy some fresh air with friends or family members while being surrounded by nature’s beauty! The route can be completed in 35 minutes on average – but don’t worry if it takes you longer because there are plenty of spots where folks like yourself can go slow so that everyone has an opportunity to encounter whatever they’re seeking along this beautiful path
Big Pond Trail

If you want to stay close to home, take this 4.6 mile out and back trail. Big pond trail passes through several beautiful lakes and you meet many furry friends along the path. Whether you’re looking to get some fresh air or enjoy the company of others while taking your dog on a walk, residents have access to 8+ miles worth trails surrounding McCormick. There are even trail heads located all around this wonderful place! Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.
