As we head into the last month of the fishing season, we want to share our top favorite fishing spots near McCormick before October ends.
Head down to Port Orchard Marina if you are looking for salt water fishing. This area provides plenty of shoreline and pier access for those without a boat, as well as protected areas for small boats to chase resident and migratory salmon and bottom fish. Just 10 minute drive from McCormick, this is a great last minute spot to go fishing before the season ends!
Just shy of a 10 minute drive from McCormick, Trophy Lake Casting is a great place to break out the fly fishing rod! This is a wonderful spot for those with experience and those without it can get private fly fishing lessons or bring an expert along with you.
In your own backyard at McCormick you have North Lake. This lake is apart of the 7 miles of trails that McCormick has to offer. You do not have to go far to enjoy and all levels of expertise are encouraged!
Just around the corner from McCormick, Square Lake Park provides the solitude of nature along with a spot to fish. You might also see some wildlife in the process!
If you are feeling up for a little bit more of a drive, go check out a major fishing area, Browns Point, which is just 45 minutes away from McCormick. Migratory coho and pink salmon are accessible here on the shoreline using buzz bombs, jigs and flies. Additionally, cutt throat trout and resident coho can be caught during this time using flyfishing gear.
The outdoor adventures are endless at McCormick!
